I gave some tips on getting through medical school so I wanted to give you a list a few of the books that got me through from first year to graduation. Honorary mention also has to go out to the bootlegged version Goljan audio lectures that helped me pass the part one of my boards.

  1. First Aid For the USMLE
    1. USMLE Step 1
    2. USMLE Step 2 CK
  2. Pocket Medicine: The Massachusetts General Hospital Handbook of Internal Medicine
  3. Boards and Wards
  4. First Aid for the COMLEX
  5. Five Minute Clinical Consult
As an attending my favorite apps/books to use are medscape, epocrates & pocket medicine. I am very upfront with my patients that I don't know every thing so I have no problem puling out my phone when I am not sure. For my medical students I would love to say that these are the only books that you are going to need but I'd be lying. Some may use less but most will likely use a lot more.
If you any questions on any books that you are looking to purchase leave it in the comments and I'll be sure to answer.
