In this episode of Medicine Mondays, we are going to be talking about the most important visit you can make to your doctor’s office. The “routine” doctor’s visit is so far from the normal visit you typically make when you go to see your doctor. For many people, the annual exam is the most important time to get your health together for the whole year.

The perspective from the doctor’s standpoint is that this is the routine visit where I can spend the most time with my patient and actually get paid for spending a longer time frame.

The perspective from the patient is that this is the routine visit where you can tell your doctor all of the problems that you typically don’t get a chance to do so during the speedy visits you may have.

Today we are going to talk about why this visit is so much more special than the others including the different questions you can expect to have to answer, the typical labs and diagnostic tests needed based on age, race, and gender.
